Springs Preserve Wedding // Courtney + Greg
This is the first wedding I have shot at Springs Preserves on my own, I had previously 2nd shot there for some other local photographers but I finally had my own. So excited! When your a second shooter for another photographer, while fun you are not the one taking the couples portraits after the wedding so I was super pumped to finally have my turn. Courtney and Greg did not disappoint either! We left plenty of time in their timeline to bring her dress and details of her wedding attire down to the frame house for some really cool photos. Plus we had plenty of time to do portraits of the girls and the guys separately before hand. This made their day flow so much better and we weren’t so rushed after the ceremony to get all of the family, bridal party and couple portraits done. Courtney found inspiration for her wedding from a friend of mine and local photographer Chelsy Cardin, who also had a vow renewal at Springs Preserve.
Courtney had these adorable shirts made with the states of where all her girls came from.
I think it is so great that Courtney chose to have both her father and step-father walk her up the aisle as well as have a first dance with her. The whole family stood and presented her to Greg which was so sweet and touching. It was a great moment watching the dads shake hands as they handed off their little girl. I think it is so cool to see a blended family with such love
Yup, I am a total sap, lol.
I loved the yellow and gray chevron patterns through out her reception venue and the paper lanterns made is so magical!
They had these super cute and delicious nothing bundt cake minis instead of the traditional wedding cake.
Stay tuned for their day after portrait session!

Katie and Steve’s Art Deco Wedding at The Smith Center
Katie and Steve were married this past March at the Smith Center of Performing Arts. Katie was going for an Art Deco theme which fit the Smith Center’s architecture perfectly. Their wedding ceremony was held at the main lobby grand staircase while their reception was held on the top floor. This was such a unique wedding venue and I loved that they allowed us to go into the theater for portraits!

Janice and Mateo’s Wedding in Lanikuhonua, Oahu
Wow, where do I even begin to tell you about what an amazing experience Janice and Mateo treated us to. This might be a long one
I originally met Janice and Mateo last year when they called and booked an engagement session with me. From the get go these two were amazing, super relaxed, full of laughs and so in love. They had told me they would be getting married in Hawaii and at that time I am pretty sure neither myself or the couple knew that they would end up bringing Jamison and I there to photograph their wedding day. I was beyond thrilled and honored when they asked us to be their wedding photographers. I’m sure your thinking heck yeah who doesn’t want to go to Hawaii, my thought was, heck yeah who doesn’t want to photograph a wedding in Hawaii with such a sweet fun couple. I think I was more excited for their actual wedding day then the trip itself and boy they did not disappoint. Janice and Mateo’s wedding day was full of their close family, friends and loved ones and I can not even tell you how welcome they made us feel.
When we arrived to our hotel which was The New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel just off of Waikiki we were given a gift bag, without really looking at it I took it up to the room, and just assumed it was something the hotel gave to everyone. We sat down and started unpacking and I finally took a look at the bag and saw a hand written note from Janice and Mateo. I was so shocked that they cared so much that we came out for their wedding that they actually put together this bag full of goodies and all the information we could need for being on the island. It is amazing how small gestures can mean so much
We vacationed for a couple of days before the wedding and or course while we are in Hawaii this huge storm hits and rained pretty much the entire time, I was so worried, where would they get married if it was still pouring on their wedding day. Well the wedding day came and I looked out the balcony to find a beautiful day with just a hint of clouds for some nice drama in the sky and much relief.
We headed out to Ko Olina Resort where the couple was staying and getting married. We arrived to a beautiful suite overlooking the ocean and a very excited bride and groom. Janice and Mateo decided to do a first look so we had more time for portraits before the wedding ceremony. I just love Mateo’s reaction to seeing her for the first time, so cute! After that we headed to the ceremony location of Lanikuhonua “Where Heaven Meets the Earth” . It was absolutely beautiful and just before the ceremony a friend joined us from out of the ocean!
The reception though was insanely awesome
It began with Janice serenading Mateo, some pretty sweet dance moves from Mateo aka the Filipino Pit Bull, lol, a song their niece wrote and sang for the two of them which was AMAZING! Followed with a big surprise for all of the guests, a festive dance show featuring fire dancers and hula girls. We can not even begin to tell you how incredible the wedding day was but I hope that these pictures show you all a little bit about the wedding day!

Nelson Ghost town Engagement Session // Aurora + Lee
I had the most amazing engagement session with Aurora and Lee out in Nelson, NV! We could not have asked for a more beautiful day, the weather was absolutely perfect, the first warm day in Las Vegas. I could not have asked for a more adorable couple either! I had met with Aurora a couple times prior to her engagement session but had not been able to meet Lee yet as he lives out of state. I was excited to meet him and more excited to see the chemistry these two had together! They were full of fun, laughter and tender moments. I can not even tell you how excited I am that they chose us to photograph their wedding later this year. Can not wait! Here are some of my favs!!!
Engagement Session at the Smith Center // Crystal + Mike
Crystal and Mike are getting married later this summer at Springs Preserve and I cant wait for their wedding. I wasn’t sure we would have a chance to meet before the big day as they are from North Carolina. I was super excited when they planned a trip out to Vegas to finalize a few details for their wedding. So we planned an engagement session down at the Smiths Center. This was actually my very first time going there and I absolutely loved it. I adore the architecture, light colors and courtyard and I am sure there will be many photo shoots there to follow. We also headed across the street to Symphony Park for a few images. I’m not sure you can tell in the images but man was is so cold and windy! Crystal and Mike weren’t going to let it stop them from getting the shots though
Check out some of my favorites!
Death Valley Concept Photography
I am part of a local photography group that encourages learning, growing and helping others. This group has been amazing to be part of my life for the past two years in helping me grow as a photographer. Every year we have a planned photography session and so this year it was set to be at Death Valley Nation Park as well as Rhyolite Ghost town. I had never been to either place so I was super excited to load up the car with my favorite photography peeps and take a road trip. Now it was about 3 hours away but so worth it. So if anyone ever wants to plan a shoot out there let me know and I am all over it
We had two girls lined up for the photo shoot and Makeup in the 702 took care of their hair and makeup for the girls. Here are some of my favorite images from the shoot!
Revere Golf Club Wedding Film Henderson, NV Kate + Nachum
Kate and Nachum were married in the fall of 2012 at The Revere Golf Club in Henderson, NV. We are so honored to have captured their special day and create a wedding film highlighting their love story. Kate is part of a local band called Jewish Jammin’, she arranged for them to play music during her ceremony and her reception which was really fun and unique. After editing their video I can’t seem to get the tunes out of my head, lol. Their night ended with a walkway lined with all of their guests, sparklers in hand and minnie mouse ears on Kate , which I just loved! I love when a reception has a grand finally exit with sparklers! It is so fun and magical! I hope you guys enjoy their wedding film as much as I do!

Jessica and Chris End of the World Las Vegas Wedding- sneak peak
We have been looking forward to photographing Jessica and Chris’ wedding for almost a year now and are so excited that they tied the knot yesterday and survived
They were married on 12.21.12 the day rumored to be the last on earth but looks like we are still here since I am writing this blog
We had a great time with them yesterday and I just wanted to share a little sneak peak from their 1st look portrait session that took place in the Arts District of Las Vegas shortly before they married. Jessica rocked her red converse with her tea length dress which I think is perfect and very fitting for this bride
Congratulations Jessica and Chris and thanks for allowing us to be part of your special day!!!
Wedding at Paiute Golf Club Las Vegas NV {Carmela + Funtaine}
Carmela and Funtaine were married last month at the beautiful Paiute Golf club just outside of Las Vegas, NV. It was such am honor to capture these two tie the knot. Paiute is such an amazing wedding venue it was the perfect location for all of their family and friends to come together to celebrate these two and their new life together. The ceremony was so touching, Funtaine was in tears before he even headed down the aisle and as soon as I saw him, I started crying, lol. Luckily I pulled it together so I could see clearly
After the ceremony we headed out on the course for some portraits, it was so beautiful with the pond, sunflowers and a beautiful sunset that made the mountains glow purple.
Silverton Hotel Veil Wedding Photography Las Vegas NV { Shelley + Ryan }
Shelley and Ryan’s wedding day was absolutely beautiful! They had some amazing flowers that were pinks, purples and blues and their reception venue Veil matched it perfectly.
It began in their suites at the Silverton hotel in Las Vegas NV. Shelley reserved a suite with a balcony overlooking the ceremony site. Her flowers girls were adorable in their fairy wings, tutu’s and bedazzled shoes.
Shelley also entered the ceremony from the balcony! It was really cool to see her exit out of her room, down the staircase where her parents joined her to walk her the rest of the way where Ryan awaited her. Two of the couples friends sang and played for them as they walked down the aisle, such a cool touch. Shelley looked stunning in her Vera Wang gown and Christian Louboutin shoes.
Congratulations Ryan and Shelley!

Melissa had some jewels glued onto her skin for some extra bedazzeling.
The Shang-ri La room at the Foundation room had an amazing view overlooking the Las Vegas Strip and was a beautiful location for their reception! The reception was very low lit and had a very relaxed casual feeling. The couples cake was from Las Vegas Custom Cakes and looked fantastic! It was such a pleasure for us to get to know Rick and Melissa through out their entire wedding planning and we are so excited for their future together! Congratulations you two! xoxo

Lake Las Vegas Rock the Dress Photography Session { Suzy + Terence}
We were contacted by Suzy and Terence a few months ago because they wanted to recreate some wedding portraits that were missed by another photographer on their actual wedding day. Suzy wanted some images captured of the two of them getting ready as well as some portraits. We headed to the spa at Ravella where Suzy got her hair and makeup done and then headed to one of their rooms so they could get in their wedding attire. I have to say Ravella made for a beautiful area to get ready. After they were all beautified we headed to some different locations around Lake Las Vegas for their portraits. We had really beautiful evening lighting and ended the night with a colorful Vegas sunset.

Cili at Bali Hai Las Vegas Wedding // Shelby + Michael
I am so excited to share Shelby and Michael’s wedding images with you! They are such an amazing couple and we had a blast with them! They began their day at the Vdara hotel which is always amazing, The girls were all gathered in one suite to get ready for the wedding. Shelby’s purple shoes are by Ellie and then she added a personal touch by adding the I Do jewels on the bottom. Too cute!
I just love the outside of the Vdara where all the funky zig zag lines are! I knew I had to take the girls out for some portraits.
The wedding ceremony and reception took place on the patio at Cili at Bali Hai Golf Club. It was a beautiful location and we lucked out with an amazing sunset! Shelby had tons of DIY crafts decorating the venue. From paper tissues balls lining the aisle, flower pedals cut out of foam and placed on balls with a bead center and customized wooden folding hand fans.

Ryan + Riza’s Las Vegas Wedding Photography
We are so honored that Ryan and Riza chose us, Moxie Studio as their wedding photographer and wedding cinema team. I had no idea when we first met them just how amazing their wedding would be but as their day unfolded it just kept getting better and better and of course I ended up crying more and more. The day began at the Monte Carlo penthouse suites which was so beautiful where Riza and the girls were getting ready. Ryan and the guys were in another suite.
Everyone anxiously awaited Riza walking down the aisle, her flower girls were adorable peaking around everyone to try and sneak a peak of the beautiful bride making her way towards them! They were married at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Summerlin.
After the ceremony we all jumped into their party bus and headed down to Fremont Street to do photos before the reception.
Their wedding reception was at the Monte Carlo ballrooms, with 250 guest cheering as they made their grand entrance.
At the couples pre wedding consultation while Ryan had stepped away for a moment, Riza told us she had something special planned for Ryan on the wedding day. Just as she was going to explain Ryan came back. During the reception the DJ announced Riza wanted to make a special announcement, so she stood up and explained how she was losing her voice but wanted to dedicate a special song to her now husband. When she began singing I was floored, she was amazing! Riza was formerly a singer in the Chaze Band here in Las Vegas that played at many of the top casino’s in town but I had no idea how amazing she was! I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room watching her sing to Ryan, it was one of the most touching moments I have ever seen. I can’t wait for the completion of their wedding video to share it with you all.

Las Vegas Wedding Photography at Fremont Street {Amy + Owen}
Amy and Owen were married earlier this month at the Golden Nugget Hotel Wedding Chapel in downtown Las Vegas. The Golden Nugget supplied their own photographer for the wedding ceremony but we were there to capture them getting ready and to take some fun photos around Fremont Street after the wedding. Here are a few of my favorite photos from their wedding day!
Amy and Owen also had a very big announcement to make that evening at their wedding dinner. They are expecting! Congratulations guys!

Las Vegas Wedding Photography at Rio Secco {Justin + Susan}
Justin and Susan had such a fabulous wedding day, there are so many moments that touched me and made me giggle as I was editing through their photos reliving those memories. They were married at the beautiful Rio Secco in Henderson and it was the perfect setting. The location was high up on this plateau overlooking the valley. It was gorgeous during the day but at night it was magical with all the twinkling stars and Vegas skyline.
This is one of those stories that I’m sure they will be sharing for years to come and hopefully laughing about. The winds were really strong during the wedding ceremony and about mid ceremony Susan’s veil lifted straight up and out of her hair!
While we were taking their portraits Jamison noticed the moon and how mystical it looked, so we went for some dramatic lighting to catch the ambiance it was creating.

Las Vegas Wedding Videography Highlight at Angel Park {Rosanna + Darrell}
Rosanna and Darrell were married at the beautiful Angel park Gold Course here in Las Vegas. They began their day at the JW Marriott to get ready and did a “first look” . We all had such a great time at their wedding. Between the rick rolling, their hilarious family and friends and the love that was just beaming from the two of them it was a perfect day! Here is their wedding video highlight film we have put together.
Some things we think you should consider when you are booking your wedding cinematographer or videographer. Make sure you have an opportunity to speak with the cinematographer that will be filming your wedding day, it is important that you get along and have a clear understanding of everything you can expect.
Ask to see examples of his or her work and make sure you love what they do! When visiting different companies be sure to ask specifically who shot the video and who edited it. Sometime’s companies show work from a prior employee who no longer works for them and don’t have the means to create the same caliber of work, be sure the work you see and who did the work is who you are going to get!
Find out the style of wedding videos that you like, do you like something very traditional, do you like documentary style with interviews and voice overs? How about the artsy cinematic style? We are a combination of documentary meets artsy cinematic.
You also want to find out if the studio you are using edits their own work, this is very important as they will have insight to your personalities and all the details of your day that made it so special. When it comes to editing you also want to find out approximately how long the finished video will be. Some people think that if you have your cinematographer there for 7 hours you will have 7 hours of video, that is not the case. In fact the finished video depends on the activities of your day and how long your ceremony is.
Do they offer a highlight video? Is that all you receive or do you receive a completely edited DVD as well? We create a highlight video that will be posted online for you to share with your family and friends as well as a completely edited DVD of all the events of your day. The DVD will have a menu with chapters so you can easily skip to different events that happened throughout your wedding day. The ceremony will be in it’s full not just bits and pieces. Will you be able to select the songs that are used for your wedding video? You bet! We always ask that you choose 5 or 6 songs that we will then edit different sections of your wedding day to.
Las Vegas Wedding Video Rosanna and Darrell Rickrolling
Rosanna and Darrell introduced us to something we have never heard of. From the time I met with them to discuss photography and video options I had asked if there was anything they were in to, to try and find some inspiration for their engagement session. Darrell pulled out of his hat Rickrolling, of course I was completely clueless and had no idea what they were talking about. So while chatting in Starbucks he looked up some videos to show me. The couple and their friends are pretty into it. So without further ado Moxie Studio presents to you, Rosanna, Darrell and their Wedding Party with a super special treat!
We are still working on their complete wedding video highlight but wanted to share this in the meantime
