Jason and Amanda’s Family Portraits at Floyd Lamb Park

You probably recognize Jason and Amanda as we have photographed them quite a bit, from their engagement session, maternity photos and the latest was newborn portraits of their daughter Chloe.  It was time for family portraits a couple of weeks ago and I couldn’t believe how big Chloe had gotten!  It seemed like just last month I was at their house for the newborn session and now here she was sitting up on her own, trying to walk and full of smiles.  I have to give huge props to my amazing hubby for making her giggle when needed :)   I love a man that can act like a goofball! xoxo  Here are a few of the portraits we captured of their growing family!  If you would like to check out their other sessions you can seem them by clicking on the name of the session you would like to see:  ENGAGEMENT  MATERNITY  NEWBORN

Las Vegas Family Portraits at a ghost town

It’s been a while since I have blogged, with the holidays we have just been so busy with everything I have not had a chance to!  So today is the day, I finally have a little down time so I thought I would share JoAnn and Marco’s family portraits.  These two are getting married next year so we did a combined engagement session and family portrait session out at Nelson Ghost town.  It is such a cool unique location that I just can’t get enough of!  Here are some of my favorite images from their session!

Lake Las Vegas Family Portraits

This is my third portrait session with Talia, Brent, Kylie, Kenna and Blaine.  They were getting ready to move and wanted to get one last session in before their big move.  We headed out to where their relationship began which was at Lake Las Vegas where they first met.

{Corbyn} Children Portraits Las Vegas, NV

I met Corbyn’s parents Chris and Kaley last year when I took some maternity photos for them out at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park.
You can see the images from their session HERE .  I was so excited to finally meet little Corbyn, I had seen her photos nearly everyday
on facebook and new she would be a bundle of joy to photograph.  We headed out to a park nearby at sunset and got these magical shots.
I’m pretty sure everyone at the park and driving by thought we were all complete weirdos due to the random noises we were all making,
but hey, whatever makes them smile.  Here are a few of my favorites photos from her session!  Enjoy!!!

Corbyn and her daddy dancing at the park, so sweet.  I could not help but think that one day he would be dancing with her on her wedding day.  Corbyn with her mommy in a sweet moment.

{Jayson + Anna} Las Vegas NV Wedding Reception at Wildhorse

Jayson and Anna’s wedding reception was held at the Wildhorse Country Club in Henderson, NV.  We love to capture you and your guests best dance moves and this video highlight’s them all :)

Bella // Pet Portraits Las Vegas nv

This past weekend we had the pleasure of going out to Los Angeles to film two short films with some dear friends of ours.  While staying at their house I fell in love with their dog Bella.  I had seen pictures over the years of Bella on facebook and thought to myself, what an odd little dog, lol.  As soon as I met Bella I understood exactly why Emma saved her from the pound, she was the most adorable, quirky, goofy and lovable dog.  We quickly became friends and as soon as we had wrapped up filming the movies I said I have to take some portraits of Bella!  I set up my lights in the living room and used an ottoman in front of a wall and just made it work.  Here are a few of Bella’s portraits.

Jason & Amanda’s Maternity Photos//Las Vegas NV Photography

Celebrate your pregnancy with maternity photos!  I met Jason and Amanda almost exactly one year ago when they were just engaged through a mutual friend.  I actually took their engagement photos out at Valley of Fire, I was so bummed that they had already hired another photographer and videographer for their wedding day but I was thrilled with they asked me to do their maternity images and after the little ones comes newborn images.  Now one year later they are married and are expecting a little one next month!

We headed up to Spring Mountain Ranch State Park for their session.  I wasn’t sure how it would look in the winter but it was still really beautiful up there.  Here are some of my favorite images.

Jason and Amanda Teaser Maternity Photography Las Vegas nv

Just wanted to share one of my favorite images of Jason and Amanda from their maternity session this week up at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park.  I can’t wait to share many more images with you!

Las Vegas NV Children Photographer // Emma’s Portraits

I had the pleasure of photographing Emma again as she is getting ready to celebrate her 7th birthday!  I shot her family photos last fall and it was awesome to be able to meet up with this fantastic family again!  We headed out to Lake Las Vegas with balloons in hand.

Emma was so excited for her photo session, she knew this time it was all about her!  It always amazes me how much the kids can change in such a short time.  The last time I had seen her she was very mellow and now she was a little spitfire.  Full of energy and ready to strike any pose you could think of!  She even sang me a few songs, lol.  She brought along her adorable little sister Lily who I could not resist with her oh so cute hat!  I am a sucker for kids in hats, I don’t know what it is but they get me every time, lol.  We were also lucky enough to get a great sunset, those seem pretty rare in Las Vegas.

I love to photograph kids and families.  I am pretty laid back and I will do anything to make your kids smile and laugh.  When you are looking for someone to photograph your family be sure to ask a few things.

First is the photographer good with children?  I am someone with tons of experience photographing little ones.  I truly enjoy creating a great experience for your family and capturing your child doing what they do best, being a child!  Sure I love to get the posed shot too but it is always great to capture the real smile and laughter and kids at play.

Do you have a location choice?  For sure!  No two sessions are ever the same I work with your family to find the location and poses that works best for you.  I always suggest doing portraits someplace where your family will be relaxed and comfortable.  While studios can be nice I find that kids are themselves outdoors whether it be a park, playground, lake, exploring a ghost town or anything else your family enjoys doing together.

Referrals are also a great way to know if we are the right fit for your family.  Check out our testimonials to see what other families enjoyed about working with us!

Do they offer the Photo CD with print release?  We absolutely do!  We know moms love to share their families portraits with well, pretty much everyone they know!  We offer the CD for an additional fee so that you may print anything you like, post images to facebook and archive the images for years to come.

I also bring an assistant with me to help with getting the kids to smile, make sure your hair looks good and all the little details so we don’t miss anything.  It is also a huge help to me so I can focus on your family unit and what makes you, you.

We would love to chat with you and capture your family portraits, feel free to give us a call at 702.527.0258

Las Vegas NV Wedding Videography and Cinematography // Jayson and Anna’s Highlight

We had the pleasure of capturing Jayson and Anna’s Wedding day. Jayson and Anna were married at St John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Las Vegas Nevada. Their celebration was held at Wildhorse Country Club. It was our honor and pleasure to put this together for this amazing couple!  Jason serves in our military and is stationed in Italy it was awesome to see these guys reunited after being separated for so long!  A few days after their wedding Anna was able to move over to Italy with him to start their life together.  Congratulations guys and thank you for choosing Moxie Studio for your wedding cinematography needs!

Some things we think you should consider when you are booking your wedding cinematographer or videographer. Make sure you have an opportunity to speak with the cinematographer that will be filming your wedding day, it is important that you get along and have a clear understanding of everything you can expect.

Ask to see examples of his or her work and make sure you love what they do! When visiting different companies be sure to ask specifically who shot the video and who edited it. Sometime’s companies show work from a prior employee who no longer works for them and don’t have the means to create the same caliber of work, be sure the work you see and who did the work is who you are going to get!

Find out the style of wedding videos that you like, do you like something very traditional, do you like documentary style with interviews and voice overs? How about the artsy cinematic style? We are a combination of documentary meets artsy cinematic.

You also want to find out if the studio you are using edits their own work, this is very important as they will have insight to your personalities and all the details of your day that made it so special. When it comes to editing you also want to find out approximately how long the finished video will be. Some people think that if you have your cinematographer there for 7 hours you will have 7 hours of video, that is not the case. In fact the finished video depends on the activities of your day and how long your ceremony is.

Do they offer a highlight video? Is that all you receive or do you receive a completely edited DVD as well? We create a highlight video that will be posted online for you to share with your family and friends as well as a completely edited DVD of all the events of your day. The DVD will have a menu with chapters so you can easily skip to different events that happened throughout your wedding day. The ceremony will be in it’s full not just bits and pieces. Will you be able to select the songs that are used for your wedding video? You bet! We always ask that you choose 5 or 6 songs that we will then edit different sections of your wedding day to.

Las Vegas nv Engagement Photographer ~ Tess and Nathan ~ Vintage

We had such an awesome time with Tess and Nathan for their engagement session.  Nathan has a sweet old rat rod that he drove down to Fremont Street for the shoot.  It was perfect had so much fun to do something with a car.  We were visited by nearly everyone that drove by because they wanted to see the car.  We even had the police stop by to check out the photo shoot.

We also had to get the kids in on a couple of photos!  They were so cooperative and made my job so easy.  Such a beautiful family!  I love this family photo!

Next we headed over to the El Cortez Cabana Suites lobby which was a really cool location.  So glad Tess thought of it.  It worked out perfect!

Our last stop was the Neon Boneyard, we had perfect lighting and these two just can’t take a bad photo!

I can’t wait until their upcoming wedding.  This engagement session helped us to get to know them so well and it will make the wedding day photography that much easier.  If you have not considered doing engagement photos, you really should.  It is such a great opportunity to build a relationship with your photographer  and cinematographer and become familiar with how things work on a photo shoot.  Thank you to Tess and Nathan for an amazing photo shoot!!!

UNLV Graduate ~ Brittney ~

I had the pleasure of photographing Brittney after her very dear friend Ashley surprised her and booked a session for her.  Both girls have been best friends for many years and are now graduating from UNLV and moving on to the next college together and this was a great way to capture some photos of the two of them together, with Brittney’s mom and some of the very charismatic Brittney. Congratulations Brittney and Ashley!!! Here are some of my favorites!

Las Vegas Family Photos ~Karen, Triny and Marco ~ Clark County Heritage Museum

We met up with Karen, Treeny and Marco aka “Mini Coop” this past weekend for their family photos.  We headed out to the Clark County Heritage Museum and then to a near by park to get some images with their dogs too.  Marco was super shy so I decided it was time for a game of peek a boo around the tree’s which helped him to relax more.  I am a pretty relaxed person so when kids aren’t the happiest or not exactly doing what we all wish they would do, I make lemonade out of lemons and just go with it.  I find that if you try and force kids to sit and pose and they are not the posing type it equals tears, grumpy faces and stressed out parents and no one wants that.  The fall leaves and my awesome assistant were key to lighting up Marco’s smiling face, he loved having the leaves tossed up over him and just playing in them.  Here are just a few of my favorites!

Las Vegas Couple Session ~ Perry and Rhiannon ~ Mount Charleston Snow

We headed up to Mt. Charleston this past weekend with Rhiannon and Perry for their session.  With a storm that hit the day before we had tons of fresh powder to work our way through.  These guys were awesome and stuck it out in the chilly 19 degree weather and made the most of our snowy wonderland.  Sometimes in Vegas it just doesn’t feel like winter or the holiday season, but I tell you what, head up to the mountain and it will change everything!

Las Vegas Family Photography ~ M Family ~ Floyd Lamb Park

I had the pleasure earlier in the year of photographing Russ and his fiance’s engagement photos
so I was thrilled when his mom called and asked for family portraits.  It is always a great time
to get family photos before the “unit” splits off in new directions, as Russ will be getting married soon.
The leaves were still in full fall colors for their session at Floyd Lamb Park and it was the perfect fit
for this family. Thank you Chandi, Damon, Russ and Jen for choosing Moxie Studio
for your family photos!  I had a blast with you guys!

Las Vegas Family Portraits ~ Lisa, Raine and Haley ~ Floyd Lamb park

I met Lisa, Raine and Haley at Floyd Lamb Park for their family portrait session.  If you have never been there now is the time to go, it’s so beautiful, almost as if your no longer in Vegas.  The leaves were gorgeous and I loved to watch Haley play in them, so cute!  Here are some of my favorites!

Las Vegas Children Photography ~ Christian & RayAnn ~

We had the pleasure of photographing Christian and RayAnn on Saturday at the Clark County Heritage Museum.
This was our first time there and it was a pretty cool area.  Here are some of my favorite images from their session.

Las Vegas Family Photos // Jon and Erin // Floyd Lamb Park

I had the pleasure this past week to photograph Jon, Erin and JT this week at Floyd Lamb Park.  The fall colors were still as beautiful as ever and the weather was amazing.  The things I will do to make kids smile make me wonder what parents think of me when their photo session is over, lol.  Needless to say I will dance around, sing silly songs, play peek a boo, whatever it takes.  Here are some of my favorite images from their family portraits.

Family Portrait Photographer ~Las Vegas ~ Heather and Mike

I had the pleasure of taking Heather and Mike’s family portraits this week at the beautiful Spring Mountain Ranch.  I was so excited to see the tie on Landon, he looked so stinking cute! Makayla looked like a doll and from the moment I got my camera up she was ready to take photos!  Heather had lots of ideas for photos she wanted to take and they turned out adorable.  She may have just started a new family portrait craze!  lol.   Thank you guys for choosing Moxie Studio to capture your family this year.  It was truly a pleasure!

Las Vegas Newborn and Family Photographer ~ Blaine~

What an adorable baby Blaine is!  I couldn’t believe how much hair this little infant had!  Blaine was born on November 11, 2011 and just 5 days old in these photos.  His mom Talia was hoping we would get some sleepy baby photos since he was so young, but sure enough Blaine wanted to stay awake to see why everyone was staring at him, lol.  Here are some of my favorites from their in home studio session.

Las Vegas Engagement Photography- Michelle and Michael

You probably recognize Michael and Michelle as I previously shot their family portraits at Spring Mountain Ranch.
Well I thought they should have their own engagement session to celebrate their upcoming vintage themed
wedding. We timed it perfectly with the leaves changing in Las Vegas, it actually looks like fall! We headed up
to Floyd Lamb Park where I discovered I brought Michelle to her worst nightmare, lol, ducks and geese.
Luckily the animals played nice and kept their distance for the most part except a random pigeon that really
wanted to be in a few photos. Here are some of my favorite images from their session.

Talia, Brent, Kenna and Kylie- Las Vegas Family and Maternity Portrait Photographer

Talia came to us for some maternity images. She also wanted her family there and involved with the photo session
so we made it a dual session :) We went to Spring Mountain Ranch for their photo shoot and of course
we had to go right when this nasty cold wind came to Vegas. We all toughed it out though and made
the most of the beautiful scenery. Here are some of my favorite images!

Zeke, Elias and Xavier-Las Vegas Family Portrait Photographer

It was great to meet the Ballard boys, Zeke, Elias and Xavier last week for their photo session.
The boys were super good sports about getting their picture taken and Zeke and his silly faces made it that much more fun :)

Presenting Allana Ladybug- Las Vegas newborn portrait

Presenting baby Allana Ladybug!  I’m sure you will recognize Allana’s parents and big brother from their maternity
and family images that we took for them last month.  Well baby Allana decided to join us two weeks early and we are
so happy for the family to welcome this little bundle of joy into their lives!  Mommy Patricia has always loved ladybugs and when
it came to Allana’s name she knew it would be in there somewhere which also meant we had to find a ladybug outfit
to fit this little girl for her ladybug shoot!  I was thrilled when Patricia called me and let me know that
she found it and was ready for their in home studio session.  Here are some of my favorite photos!
