Lake Las Vegas Engagement Portraits {Janice + Mateo}

I am super excited to show you guys some of my favorite images from Janice and Mateo’s Engagement session out at Lake Las Vegas.  I decided to scout out some new locations around Lake Las Vegas and I think I found some beautiful new areas.  It doesn’t feel like they are in Vegas and even when we were out on their photo shoot it didn’t feel like Vegas, it was so tropical and relaxing.  The morning light was so stunning and inspirational the way it broke through the leaves.  It seemed like everywhere I looked there was another breathtaking scene.  I had a blast with these two, they were so easy going and Mateo was awesome at making Janice laugh.  I have to say being a photographer is so rewarding, I love being able to create and capture moments with such amazing people.  Thank you Janice and Mateo for choosing me to photograph you, it was truly my pleasure!

Las Vegas NV Engagement Photography Jessica + Chris

I first spoke with Jessica and Chris at the Beautiful Bride Expo when I recognized Jessica, but for the life of me I could not figure out where I knew her from.  She thought for a few minutes and looked through our albums when she realized that some of the prints that were displayed at the booth were ones she had printed at her lab.  Las Vegas can be such a small world!  Turned out she was admiring my photography when she was printing it!  Shortly after they reserved their wedding photography with us and we scheduled their engagement photography session.  They wanted to do something different that not everyone else had done which I was totally game for.  We headed over to the Clark County Heritage Museum in Henderson NV for their photos.  We had some fun with all the vintage decor and props which fits in perfectly to their vintage hollywood glam themed wedding this winter.

I LOVE Jessica’s eyes!  They are so haunting don’t ya think?

{ Carlos + Jennifer } Engagement Photographer Las Vegas NV under the stars

Carlos and Jennifer attended the Las Vegas Bride Expo and won a free engagement photo shoot from us.
I was thrilled when she called and told me the theme of her wedding which is summer days and starry nights. Immediately I thought of an image I had seen before by another Las Vegas Photographer and thought I would
love to create something similar. So we headed out to the dry lake bed for their engagement photo shoot.
We were a little short on daylight as poor Jenn and Carlos’ car broke down on their way out to the shoot :(
Luckily they made it just before the sunset and we made those 10 minutes count! But the night sky and stars
were amazing once the sun was down.

I can’t remember the last time I saw such a beautiful sky! Living in vegas we don’t get to see the stars much so this was a real treat for us. Seriously people if you need a romantic relaxing night away from Vegas, go to the lake bed set up some blankets and just look at the stars! They are so bright out there!

{Rosanna + Darrell} Las Vegas NV Engagement Photography Teaser

Just wanted to share a couple of Rosanna and Darrell’s engagement photos that were taken down near city center this weekend.  Stay tuned for the full blog post!

{Frank + May} Las Vegas NV Engagement Photography

I met Frank and May at the Beautiful Bride Expo in Las Vegas this past January.  When they emailed to book their engagement photography session I was thrilled and knew we would be in for a fun session.  These guys made being a photographer too easy, they were so natural in front of the camera and together.  Frank is a true romantic in every way and it just pours out of him when he is with May.  I love to hear proposal stories so I had to find out how this romantic proposed to his lovely fiance’ and I was not disappointed :)   He whisked her away to Catalina Island where they had a magical day together and then he asked May how her day was so far and she said perfect, then he said well lets make it even better and asked for her hand in marriage!  So sweet!

For their session we headed to the Neon Boneyard Museum which is always a treat!  Love, love, love this place!  It is so cool to see all the vintage signs and history of Vegas.

Afterwards we finished up their engagement session down around Fremont Street.

This story behind this shot.  We stepped into the dark alleyway to do a few photos when Frank and May saw the 111, this seems to be a theme with them!  They said everywhere they go they always end up with the number 1 or 11 or 111 etc, how funny!  I swear I don’t remember ever seeing this address next to this spot and I take photos here often.  Sometimes I think things are just meant to be and on this day I believe Frank and May were meant to be photographed by me at these locations.

Your probably thinking, why on earth would you pose them at a bus stop poster right?  Well this is actually a safe driving advertisement that I did the photography for :)   I was so excited to see it that they asked for a photo with it :)   Remember look both ways before crossing the street and stop for pedestrians in crosswalks!

Ryan and Riza Nelson Ghost Town Engagement Session;Las Vegas NV

Meet Ryan and Riza our latest engagement session. These two people are so amazingly fun and I can not wait for their upcoming wedding which will be taking place at a local church and then on to the Monte Carlo for their wedding reception. They have chosen us for their photographer and videographer which we are so excited to be the ones to capture their marriage celebration. They wanted to do something a little different for their engagement session so first we headed out to some dry lake beds near Vegas.  Afterwards we went out to Nelson Ghost town.  I have never been able to convince anyone to go out there and take photos but I think it will become a new poplular location after this session. So this is my first engagement photo session out at Nelson Ghost town, if you have never been there go check it out, it is a super fun place just to go explore!

Las Vegas nv Engagement Photographer ~ Tess and Nathan ~ Vintage

We had such an awesome time with Tess and Nathan for their engagement session.  Nathan has a sweet old rat rod that he drove down to Fremont Street for the shoot.  It was perfect had so much fun to do something with a car.  We were visited by nearly everyone that drove by because they wanted to see the car.  We even had the police stop by to check out the photo shoot.

We also had to get the kids in on a couple of photos!  They were so cooperative and made my job so easy.  Such a beautiful family!  I love this family photo!

Next we headed over to the El Cortez Cabana Suites lobby which was a really cool location.  So glad Tess thought of it.  It worked out perfect!

Our last stop was the Neon Boneyard, we had perfect lighting and these two just can’t take a bad photo!

I can’t wait until their upcoming wedding.  This engagement session helped us to get to know them so well and it will make the wedding day photography that much easier.  If you have not considered doing engagement photos, you really should.  It is such a great opportunity to build a relationship with your photographer  and cinematographer and become familiar with how things work on a photo shoot.  Thank you to Tess and Nathan for an amazing photo shoot!!!

Las Vegas Couple Session ~ Perry and Rhiannon ~ Mount Charleston Snow

We headed up to Mt. Charleston this past weekend with Rhiannon and Perry for their session.  With a storm that hit the day before we had tons of fresh powder to work our way through.  These guys were awesome and stuck it out in the chilly 19 degree weather and made the most of our snowy wonderland.  Sometimes in Vegas it just doesn’t feel like winter or the holiday season, but I tell you what, head up to the mountain and it will change everything!

Las Vegas Family Portraits ~ Lisa, Raine and Haley ~ Floyd Lamb park

I met Lisa, Raine and Haley at Floyd Lamb Park for their family portrait session.  If you have never been there now is the time to go, it’s so beautiful, almost as if your no longer in Vegas.  The leaves were gorgeous and I loved to watch Haley play in them, so cute!  Here are some of my favorites!

Las Vegas Engagement Photography- Michelle and Michael

You probably recognize Michael and Michelle as I previously shot their family portraits at Spring Mountain Ranch.
Well I thought they should have their own engagement session to celebrate their upcoming vintage themed
wedding. We timed it perfectly with the leaves changing in Las Vegas, it actually looks like fall! We headed up
to Floyd Lamb Park where I discovered I brought Michelle to her worst nightmare, lol, ducks and geese.
Luckily the animals played nice and kept their distance for the most part except a random pigeon that really
wanted to be in a few photos. Here are some of my favorite images from their session.

Las Vegas Family Portraits-Michael, Michelle, Emma and Lilly

I have to say that family portraits with Michael, Michelle, Emma and Lilly were a blast.  We headed to Spring Mountain Ranch State Park for an enchanting afternoon filled with butterflies, laughter and a cow named Petunia.  Emma is such a doll and baby Lilly, well she is a tough one to get to smile but man when she does it just makes you light up.  I love when you can feel the love between a family, no stress during the photo shoot, just relaxing and enjoying themselves, what an awesome bond these guys have.  Here are some images to highlight our afternoon together.

Justin and Susan’s Engagement Session

This past weekend we had the pleasure of meeting up with Susan and Justin at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park
for their engagement session.  It was a beautiful fall day and the perfect setting for their photos.
We had a blast with the two of you and can’t wait for your wedding day next Spring!

Las Vegas Engagement Session- Rick and Melissa

Rick and Melissa were the winners of the drawing we had for a FREE CineArt Engagement Film at the Green Valley Bridal Show.
I decided to tag along and take some photos while Jamison’s shot their film.  We had a mini adventure with these two and their
awesome pups Bellatrix and Keyser.  Our adventure included seeing lots of bunnies, three big horn sheep and the Boulder City
Police Department, lol.  Yup that’s right folks, we had a crazy good time ;)   Apparently there were no dogs allowed at the park
we went to, I assume because of the wildlife, but these little pups could have cared less about anything except the big horn
poopies, lol.  All ended up well and we moved onto another area where we were allowed to be. Jamison is still busy
working on their engagement video but I wanted to show you all some of the images I captured.  Enjoy!

Some things we think you should consider when you are booking your wedding cinematographer or videographer. Make sure you have an opportunity to speak with the cinematographer that will be filming your wedding day, it is important that you get along and have a clear understanding of everything you can expect.

Ask to see examples of his or her work and make sure you love what they do! When visiting different companies be sure to ask specifically who shot the video and who edited it. Sometime’s companies show work from a prior employee who no longer works for them and don’t have the means to create the same caliber of work, be sure the work you see and who did the work is who you are going to get!

Find out the style of wedding videos that you like, do you like something very traditional, do you like documentary style with interviews and voice overs? How about the artsy cinematic style? We are a combination of documentary meets artsy cinematic.

You also want to find out if the studio you are using edits their own work, this is very important as they will have insight to your personalities and all the details of your day that made it so special. When it comes to editing you also want to find out approximately how long the finished video will be. Some people think that if you have your cinematographer there for 7 hours you will have 7 hours of video, that is not the case. In fact the finished video depends on the activities of your day and how long your ceremony is.

Do they offer a highlight video? Is that all you receive or do you receive a completely edited DVD as well? We create a highlight video that will be posted online for you to share with your family and friends as well as a completely edited DVD of all the events of your day. The DVD will have a menu with chapters so you can easily skip to different events that happened throughout your wedding day. The ceremony will be in it’s full not just bits and pieces. Will you be able to select the songs that are used for your wedding video? You bet! We always ask that you choose 5 or 6 songs that we will then edit different sections of your wedding day to.

Las Vegas Engagement Photography- Lindsay and Russell

We had an AMAZING time with Lindsay and Russell on their engagement session!  What an awesome couple they are, I’m always amazed that most of the people we photograph are people that we would be friends with, people we have a lot in common with.  Russell is a true romantic and proposed to Lindsay up in Zion National Park in Utah, one of their favorites places, as well as ours.  They haven’t chosen a wedding venue yet but my fingers are crossed that they will head back up to Zion  for a beautiful April wedding and continue their story the same place he proposed :)   Thank you guys for being game for any ideas I threw your way and dealing with all the ants :)   I hope you guys LOVE your images as much as I do!

Las VegasFamily Portrait Session at Floyd Lamb- Trish, Brett and Alex

This was my first photography session at Floyd Lamb Park Tule Springs and it was just beautiful!  North Las Vegas has a secret getaway spot that makes you feel that your not in Vegas anymore.  We truly had a great time with Trish, Brett and Alex, what a great family and I can not wait for their new baby girl Allana to arrive!  I really enjoy photographing people and I also love to watch the emotions and how cute couples and families are together.  These guys were no exception, this very first photo of Trish and Brett was just the cutest moment to me the way he was looking at her, you could really feel how much love he has for Trish.  Alex is an awesome little man, so excited to take care of his new little sister and help mom out with anything she needs.   Thank you guys for an awesome evening out at the park and for bringing me into your lives, I feel truly blessed and can’t wait for little ladybug Allana to come along!

Kaley and Chris’ Maternity Family photos at Spring Mountain Ranch

Saturday Jamison and I had the pleasure of meeting Kaley and Chris at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park to capture some maternity images. The setting was beautiful but the love that you could feel between these two was amazing. Kaley had the mommy to be glow and looked radiant! Thank you guys for allowing us to capture these images for you guys and I can’t wait for little Corbyn to come!

Tina and Javiers Las Vegas Engagement Session on Fremont Street

I have known Tina and Javier for a few years now and rarely has Javier allowed himself to be photographed.  He is always hiding from the camera ;)   I was thrilled when Tina told me Javier wanted me to do their engagement photo session downtown!  These two are always a blast to hang out with and I could truly feel their love for each other during our session.  Thank you Tina and Javier for a fun night and finally allowing me to take some pictures of you two!

Michael and Geraldine Engagement Session at the Boneyard and Fremont Street

I finally got to photograph Geraldine and Michael after a rain storm delayed our photo shoot two weeks ago.  They wanted to go to the Neon Museum aka Boneyard as well as down to Fremont Street.  This time we had perfect weather for their photo shoot in downtown Las Vegas.  The Boneyard was great and Fremont Street was an adventure with many strangers wanting to be in their photos and “directing” them, lol.  Here are some of my favorites shots!
